A lot of things in life you can’t control, but there is one thing which you have complete control: Your Thinking.
Did you know that the average person thinks approximately 50,000 thoughts per day? So is this good news or bad news for you? It depends whether your thoughts are moving you TOWARDS your God given potential or AWAY from it.
Neuroscientists can now actually demonstrate that every thought sends electrical and chemical signals throughout your brain, ultimately affecting each cell in your body. So the reality is thoughts influence your sleep, your digestion, your pulse, the chemical makeup of your body and all other bodily functions.
No area of your life is untouched by your thinking. The way you think either encourages you towards excellence or nudges you into weakness.
Do you have something you want to change in your life? Maybe there is something that needs to improve or change in terms of your job responsibilities. Well, lasting change is preceded by changed thinking. The best place to start to enact change is with your thought life, with a revival of your mind.
You have complete control and authority over your thoughts. But you must DISCIPLINE yourself mentally. Start with making the disciplined decision to shift from random, reactive thinking to deliberate, purpose driven thinking.
You must learn to think like God thinks.
How do we do that?
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
This scripture reflects the very nature and character of God, He is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. So when you think on such things, you meditate on the things that mirror God’s Character and to think like God we must become intentional about mirroring his image in all that we do.
So take control of your thoughts and focus on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
