Patient Determination

Congratulations! You Are Making A Difference.

“Patient Determination” is a theme that, even as I reflect upon it now, it calms my soul. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

I’d like to share a brief encouraging thought that comes from my journey as I seek to become an unhurried leader.

I am NOT busy.

That may come as a surprise because like you, I serve in kids ministry. However, I have decided to remove the word “busy” from my vocabulary. Saying that I am busy is a lament of time I wish I had. I am not busy; I am productive because I am spending time on things that are making a difference.

If Jesus came to you today would he have to say what he said to Martha in Luke 10:41? “My dear kidmin leader, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Together we can choose today to be concerned about only one thing . . . Jesus. All the other details are certainly things that need to be done, but our work will come naturally when we worship Jesus and put Him first.

Today let's come in agreement with God’s Word and the Apostle Paul’s prayer found in Colossians 1:9-12, “We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”

Congratulations on being very PRODUCTIVE! You are making a DIFFERENCE!
